Group Project Best Practices

Group Communication 

Once your group is formed make sure to establish modes of communication. Share email contact information in the event you’re unable to connect via Slack. Some students even choose to create their own WhatsApp group or share cell phone information. Establish clear, consistent guidelines around group communication including response time and follow-up.

Setting Norms 

It’s best in any group situation to establish group norms. This practice allows you and your peers to hold everyone accountable and you can revisit should any challenges arise during project work. 

Group Project Agreement 

Any project can be completed individually, however, we strongly encourage group work when assigned. When group project assignments are posted please carefully review and complete the group project agreement. This is meant to serve as a guide for you and your peers to develop optimal group performance as a team.
